This MC’s lyrics provide a depth that comes from his sincere approach to hiphop; he raps about what he knows about, and conveys with witty, intelligent rhymes and a self-assured, idiosyncratic delivery. He is currently working on an album project with producer J-Yeah wjile working on his own material.
The arrival of 2004 first brought about success for Young Mega. The Dunedin MC burst onto the national music scene, his verse for the “Rap to P-Money’s Beats” competition beating all other nation-wide entries to appear as the theme track featured on the 2004 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards televised coverage. Young Mega’s lyrical talents have been showcased through his many live gigs and performances. Notable appearances have included opening for Scribe’s Crusader album release party, Boost Mobile Hook-Up tour, and numerous other gigs throughout the country with his crews IMC, Tomb Raiderz and SAID.
He has featured frequently on local artist’s mix-tapes over the past five years including LXG, Disruptiv, Potheads, Hood Watch South, 44 and Tomb Raiderz mix-tapes.
